+1

For those that have noticed, the name of my blog has changed, I am excited to announce that +1 is the name I have chosen for my new event planning and bespoke stationery company. I am currently working on a website so watch this space for it’s launch. N.B. to temporarily avoid confusion my URL is still the same (i-do-design.tumblr.com) however come the launch of my website this too will change.

Pantry Cupcakes

At our local Farmers Market last week it was hard to miss this beautiful array of cakes displayed by Pantry Cupcakes (see photos below.)Cup cakes are becoming more and more popular as an alternative to Wedding Cakes, but it seems as their popularity grows so does the mimicking of designs. These however were completely unique and stopped many passers by who couldn’t resist a tempting treat. Even I was seduced by a cupcake swirled in butter icing and topped with a an extraordinarily large strawberry dusted in edible gold glitter. It was so beautiful that even I resisted devouring it straight away, instead allowing it to grace my kitchen for a day or two. Pantry Cupcakes also has a sister company called Mabel’s Vintage Tea Parties, perfect for catering a baby shower or if the bridal party are inclined to swap the vodka shots for cups of tea, then hen parties too! Unfortunately I cannot currently provide you with a link to their website as it is under construction, but they can be found on Facebook by searching ‘Pantry Cupcakes.’

Time flies…

… when you’re having fun! It’s been a long time since I last posted on here and a lot has changed, after graduating I got a job at an Architectural practice as a Marketing Assistant which is good fun. I’ve also moved into a lovely flat with my partner which of course gave me the perfect opportunity to host an overly organised house warming party! The sad news is my partner in crime, El has moved back to Wales, so our success in events has been put on the back burner for the meantime. No surprise therefore, I’m itching to take up opportunities wherever possible to plan and organise events, so anyone who is looking for some help feel free to get in contact. As you can see from previous posts I also enjoy the creative task of designing bespoke event stationery, this is something I am keen to take further so once again, anyone who has an upcoming event and is in need of stationery i.e. invites, place names and menu’s, please do get in touch. Watch this space for my website which is coming soon. Lastly, I have some exciting opportunities on the horizon which I look forward to sharing with everyone before long, so be sure to keep checking in.

Since we have a very limited initial budget, we have chosen to have the tickets printed in black and white as opposed to colour. Even though we love the colour version, we appreciate many people may simply through their ticket away after the night, so its a cost worth saving on and we hope you’ll agree that they still look striking.

A lesson we learnt from our previous event was that we needed the details of the facebook group on the flyers. So this time round we’ve included them, making it easier for people to gain further information about the event. We also realised it would be better promotion for our DJ’s if their details were also on the flyer, again another invaluable marketing lesson learnt.
